Emergency Management Exercises/Drills

Experience shows that in case of emergency people tend to act the same way they have exercised and practiced as they learned to do in exercises. For this reason it is highly recommended that organizations exercise frequently their emergency plans and procedures in order to be better prepared to respond to an emergency situation.

The purpose of exercise planning is to establish a comprehensive program where different types of exercises are played in a successive way and with increasing difficulty in order to achieve the desired operational preparation to act in case of emergency and assure the necessary competences and skills in all areas of the emergency response.

An exercise training program has three major benefits:

  • The individual training that allows collaborators to practice their roles and earn new experiences
  • Permits validation of existing response plans and procedures
  • The improvement of emergency management system within the organization

  • These benefits are obtained not only by the exercises themselves, but from the evaluation that is made subsequently to the performance.

Matriz de Risco technicians have extensive experience in the preparation, conduction and evaluation of various types of exercise such as decision-type exercises (Table top, Role-play, CPX) or live exercises (LivEx) for various types of organizations, industrial installations and activities.
